Meyer Wilson has prosecuted dozens of nationwide class actions as court-appointed Lead and Co-Lead Class Counsel in courts throughout the country, including one class action that resulted in what was reported to be the country’s largest securities class action jury verdict at the time. The jury returned a verdict in excess of $261 million on behalf of 200+ retirees. The case was Burns, et al. v. Prudential Securities, Inc., Case No. 99CV0438, in the Court of Common Pleas of Marion County, Ohio. Mr. Meyer filed the case in 1999 (having been out of law school fewer than five years at the time), and the case was pending for more than seven years. The class members received in excess of 100% recovery of their actual losses, even after payment of attorneys’ fees and expenses.
