Are you getting automated phone calls from Walgreens?
Meyer Wilson is investigating Walgreen's use of automated phone calls to cell or mobile phones of persons who are not pharmacy customers of Walgreen's. Instead, they are family members or friends of persons who are Walgreen's pharmacy customers ... or they may be complete strangers to whomever Walgreen's is trying to contact with an autodialer or by using a prerecorded message.
Calls like these are annoying, and it can be hard to get them to stop. But you have options. There is a federal law called the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, usually called the TCPA. Except in rare circumstances, the TCPA makes it illegal to make calls to cellphones using automated dialers or to call a cell phone and leave a prerecorded message. If a court finds that a call to a cell phone violates the TCPA, the law says that the user of the phone can get between $500 and $1,500 for every call.
