Robocall Lawsuits
Are you receiving unsolicited calls and messages?
The Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) protects you against unsolicited calls and text messages to your cellphone, better known as robocalls. Debt collectors and telemarketers must abide by strict regulations when calling consumers. If you have been receiving these robocalls, contact an attorney at Meyer Wilson today because you may be able to take legal action.
About The Telephone Consumer Protection Act
The TCPA became law in 1991, putting restrictions on automated calls and prerecorded messages (for both debt collection and telemarketing purposes). The TCPA also now regulates automated text messaging. In most circumstances, an entity must have a person’s prior express consent in order to make automated or prerecorded calls or text messages to a cell phone.
$500 - $1,500 Per Violation
If you have received robocalls, unsolicited text messages, or any other unsolicited phone call from a debt collector or a telemarketer, you could be entitled to $500 or more per violation. To learn more about your rights under the TCPA, contact Meyer Wilson today.
